Viewer App Update Going Live Today

Happy Friday everyone!

Today we will be running an update to the Viewer App to address several underlying bugs and issues.

The update is set to begin when this post is published!

The main focus of this update aims to fix issues reported on MacOS since the start of the year.

Fixing theses involved updating our Unity version, which will require a re-download of assets from everyone involved.

New Viewer App version: 0.4.28

During Update

Server update: you shouldn’t notice any change.
Anyone using the app during the update may experience a crash as the 3D figures are updated. If this happens, do check in with the Devs and mods on Discord to see if the update is finished or not!
All users opening the app (after the app update) will be prompted to download a new version of the app.
The new build will redownload the 3D figures when the app is initially opened or scenes are loaded.
If you try to access the scenes with an older version of the app, you will not be able to download or view any content. So please – make sure you download the new version of the app once it becomes available!

If there are issues, we will confirm them, if they occur, you may run into the following scenarios:

Assets may not be accessible in the Viewer App until the issue is resolved.
The Viewer App may crash while issues are being resolved.
The 3D Figures in the app may appear tiny and/ or disappear. If this happens, please report it ASAP to us in a ticket with the specific asset and/ or scene where there is the issue so that we can address it promptly
